In 2011 the Government asked industry to identify burdensome legislation which if removed could add value to the UK economy and promote jobs.
In 2012 it was announced that major changes would be brought about within the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). These changes were designed to replace the Agency’s legacy systems and streamline the way data is held, processed and ultimately accessed by customers and third party businesses. It was announced that the removal of the counterpart to the driving licence (D740) would constitute part of this process.
