Member Advice Centre (MAC)

The Logistics UK’s Member Advice Centre (MAC) is a knowledge hub freely accessible to Logistics UK members. Our team consists of experienced transport professionals able to advise on all aspects of transport legislation and operations, including drivers’ hours, operator licensing and dangerous goods.

The MAC is connected to Logistics UK’s wider Policy and Operational teams, ensuring they have the latest information from legislative developments to changing interpretations and practices within the industry.

Meet the Team

Robert Saunders

Manager - Member Advice Centre

Rob is the expert in engineering.  Having worked in Logistics UK’s vehicle inspection service for 18 years Rob has extensive vehicle experience including DEFRA vehicle/container animal transport approval and being an IRTEC vehicle inspection technician assessor. He became engineering information manager in the MAC progressing to his current position as manager dealing with the day to day running of the MAC.

Percy Thrower

Manager - Dangerous Goods Information

Percy is the expert in dangerous goods information. Percy has several years experience working as an operational transport manager including experience with ADR (dangerous goods transport rules) and lorry loaders. He is a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) and is a member of the British Association of Dangerous Goods Professionals (BADGP).

Tom Griffith

Manager - Compliance Information

Tom is the expert in waste management and passenger transport. He worked for a national waste company and he is also secretary to Logistics UK’s waste forum. Tom has gained specialist passenger knowledge working with our local authority members. He produces the monthly Operator Licence Compliance Information Services update and is responsible for the compliance information on our website.

Ray Marshall

Manager - Compliance Information

Ray is the expert in European transport.  Having worked in the removals industry for 15 years, Ray has considerable experience as a transport manager and international work. He has gained specialist knowledge in international operations customs and is the main contributor to Logistics UK’s European Road Freight Guide.

 

 

 

Dan Crutchington

Senior Transport Advisor

Dan is the expert in light commercial vehicles. He has a distribution background gaining good operational knowledge and is involved in all aspects of light vehicles. He is secretary of Logistics UK’s Utilities Services Working Group and has excellent technical and systems knowledge.

Becky Martin

Senior Transport Advisor

Becky is the expert in driving licences. Becky has operational experience working as a transport manager for a large premium department store operation. She is involved in all licence related activity and is also developing knowledge of European transport operations.
