New edition of FTA Van Drivers’ Handbook now available

The Freight Transport Association has published an updated edition of its Van Drivers’ Handbook - the essential guide to ensuring the safe, legal and efficient operation of vans and light commercial vehicles. The handbook is designed to give van drivers a quick and easy reference guide to help them stay legally compliant, together with practical advice and information on the daily operation of the vehicle.
The comprehensive and fully updated guide, sponsored by Brigade Automotive, covers topics such as drivers’ key legal requirements, defensive and green driving, safe use of vehicles, drivers’ hours and records, driving licences and offences, speed limits, towing trailers, dangerous goods and much more. There is also a van driver daily walk around check pull-out section.
The new edition of the FTA Van Drivers’ Handbook includes the following key updates:
• Abolition of the counterpart to the driving licence
• Changes to laws on drink and drug driving
• Updated guidance on towing trailers
