Not only is it good practice for transport managers to refresh their knowledge, the staff who report to them should also be aware of legislative changes that may affect the undertakings given by their employer.

Restricted operator licences account for over 50 per cent of all the licences issued. Although restricted licence holders are not legally required to employ a transport manager, operator licence ‘undertakings’ apply across all licence types. It is therefore important that staff are trained, responsible and capable.

This section provides several options for the upskilling and refresher training of transport staff.

The benefits of the FTA’s Managing Transport Operations training include:

  • A demonstrable pathway for logistics professionals.
  • COMPETENCY FRAMEWORK - to assist with succession planning.
  • Options for support staff and restricted licence holders.
  • OPTION OF COMPLETELY BESPOKE TRAINING - to match your company’s objectives.
